As we cross the three-month mark of lockdown, I find myself greatful that I started writing these monthly blogs. Days and weeks can easily merge into one blob and so I’m glad of the chance to reflect and celebrate achievements, no matter how big or small. Has anyone else been keeping a blog or diary during these last few months?
Here’s a quick round up of what I’ve been up to during the month of June:
One of the highlights of the month was finding out I had been chosen as one of 14 young people from Gwynedd and Anglesey to participate in Menter Mon’s ‘Llwyddo’n Lleol 2050′ (Succeed Locally) programme.
This 10 week programme is aimed at supporting local young people to grow, develop and thrive locally and within the ‘new normal’. I really enjoyed the first virtual session and I can’t wait to put what I learn into developing Cardiau Mwydro.
Thank You Teacher Cards
This month I launched my ‘Thank You Teacher Cards’, following an overwhelming success last year. Each card can be personalised with a name of your choice and can include a simple cartoon or bright bunting.
Read my blog here for further information and send me a message to place your order.
Online Craft Fair
June also excitingly marked my first time participating in an Online Craft Fair, led by the amazing team at Caernarfon Craft Fair.
I usually attend Caernarfon Market Hall’s monthly craft fair, so it was great to be reunited with the group virtually on Saturday the 20th of June. Although nothing beats being face to face with customers I did have fun adapting my stall to become digital, including picking wild flowers from the garden to decorate my virtual stall.
I’ll be returning to the virtual fair again on Saturday the 18th of July. Be sure to click ‘attend’ on the Facebook Event to join me and a great selection of local makers.
I was overwhelmed by the support Cardiau Mwydro received for Father’s Day. I had such fun creating some quirky Father’s Day Cards and so many Custom Orders, all of which were individually hand-drawn and bespoke to each father/ grandfather/ step-father.
Amongst all the orders it was great to take a break and celebrate (social distanced style) one of my closest friends, Arddun’s birthday in the glamorous setting of my back garden at the end of this month.
I’m pretty sure this is the first party I’ve ever hosted so with shops closed I had fun trying to bring the party-vibe to my back garden. I used some spare craft paper to create some birthday bunting and turned tissue paper into a Tassel Garland.
The birthday bunting included a ‘Clwb 24’ banner as oddly enough myself, my two closest friends and my boyfriend are all born on the 24th of the month – with Arddun the last of us to turn 24 on the 24th! (Extra oddly enough all of the men in my family are born on the 13th of the month!).
Let me know if you would be interested in a tutorial on how to create your own decorations!
I have lots of things in the pipeline of July, with one exciting launch coming up sometime in the month… so keep your eyes peeled!
Also, be sure to join me in the Caernarfon Online Craft Fair on July 18th and to follow my Llwyddo’n Lleol journey throughout the month!
